Attorney John Bond has had a lifetime of unique experiences that have helped shape his legal career. Mr. Bond comes from a family of engineers and architects. As a young man, he spent years in construction working for homebuilders. As much as he loved the family business, Mr. Bond decided he wanted to set out on his own path. After attending Central Missouri State University, he made the decision to become a lawyer.

A background in politics

Mr. Bond traveled from his home in Kansas to California, where he attended the University of Southern California. During his time there, he worked a variety of construction jobs to finance his way through school. After graduating law school, Mr. Bond left California for Washington, D.C. to work as the legislative director for Congressman Larry Winn Jr., his hometown representative in Kansas. He spent two years serving under Congressman Winn, and then served in the same role for Congresswoman Jan Meyers for a year.

An accomplished business career

In 1986, Mr. Bond left the House of Representatives to work for the Climate Institute, an organization dedicated to studying climate change. He left the Climate Institute to become the executive director for the United States chapter of GLOBE, a global non-governmental organization dedicated to global warming research and prevention. This organization comprised members of the House of Representatives and Senate, and statesmen from Russia, China and Japan. While working at GLOBE, Mr. Bond gained extensive experience negotiating with high-ranking elected and public officials. He also received the opportunity to serve as the organization's representative at the Kyoto Climate Change Conference.

John left GLOBE to resume his career in construction. He founded his own company and built homes for clients throughout Virginia, deepening his experience with reading blueprints and his understanding of architectural design.
